SCOUTING FOR FOOD IN NOVEMBER
At Ralphs Parking Lot in Menifee on corner of Antelope and Newport

NOVEMBER 11, 2014

SCOUTING FOR FOOD received 3114 pounds of food over the recent two-day event.

Menifee Cub Scout Pack 374 held a food drive the weekend of November 8 and 9, outside Ralph's Grocery Store in Menifee. Thanks to the support of Ralph's and the generosity of the community the drive collected 3114 pounds of food and non-perishible items, including pet food.

As shoppers entered the store, Scouts gave shoppers a list of the most needed items. Den Leader, Denise Boring, coordinated the event with 17 scouts and their parents. The pack partnered with the Menifee Valley Community Cupboard where the food will be distributed to those in need in Menifee.

Cupboard Program Director, Dawn Prather-Smith, expressed her gratitude for the work of the scouts. She said it was wonderful being out there with the scouts. They are so eager, enthusiastic and so excited when the food is weighed and tallied. The pack will continue the effort with neighborhood collections planned over the next couple weeks.
